Meeting Summary - 5th August 2023:

During the meeting held on 5th August 2023, the main focus was on survey questions and finalizing video topics for the food waste management project.

Survey Questions Importance:

The team discussed the significance of developing effective survey questions to gather relevant data for the project. They recognized that well-crafted survey questions are crucial for several reasons:

  1. Relevance: Effective survey questions ensure that the data collected directly relates to the project's objectives, providing meaningful insights.
  2. Accuracy: Clear and specific questions allow for accurate analysis and interpretation of the data, ensuring reliable conclusions.
  3. Progress Tracking: Targeted questions help measure the project's progress over time, evaluating the effectiveness of implemented strategies.
  4. Identifying Challenges: Comprehensive survey questions reveal specific challenges and obstacles, aiding in devising tailored solutions.
  5. Resource Optimization: Gathering relevant data optimizes resources by focusing efforts on areas that require immediate attention.

Finalizing Video Topics:

The team divided into three groups and appointed leaders for each group to streamline the process of selecting engaging video topics. The steps involved in this process were:

  1. Brainstorming: Each group conducted brainstorming sessions, generating a diverse range of potential video topics related to food waste management.
  2. Evaluation Criteria: Criteria such as relevance, impact, creativity, and feasibility were established to evaluate the potential topics and ensure high-quality content.
  3. Group Discussions: The teams discussed the suggested topics, narrowing down the list to the most promising ideas through collaborative decision-making.
  4. Feedback from Expert: The selected video topics were then emailed to Dr. Thushanthi, an expert in food waste management, to seek her opinion and ensure alignment with project goals and educational value.

The involvement of Dr. Thushanthi was instrumental in refining the selected topics and enhancing their impact, emphasizing the team's dedication to achieving their sustainability objectives.

Overall, the meeting marked significant progress as the team strategized data collection through surveys and advanced towards selecting compelling video topics to raise awareness about food waste management. Their collaborative efforts demonstrated a strong commitment to their sustainability goals.
