Reducing food loss is the
key to achieve zero hunger and meet environmental targets. When food is
wasted, more food has to be sourced to meet the food demand and this affects
food security. An increasing amount of food waste puts pressure on resources
and need to build more waste disposal facilities. It causes serious
negative implications with huge costs for all sections of the food supply
chain. When food is wasted, all of the resources necessary to grow, transport,
and dispose of it are also wasted. This increases carbon footprint,
contributing to global warming and climate change.
Therefore it is
important to conserve precious resources and need to minimize food wastage and
recycle or treat unavoidable food loss. This starts with avoiding food wastage
and excess food production.
As you already know food wastage is a huge problem to
the company and as well as to the country. Cooperatively with ‘MAS intimates’ taking
actions to minimise food losses and saving money is the target of this project.
